The Guildford & Waverley Community Gynaecology Service is a primary care lead service delivering gynaecology services to the local population within the Guildford & Waverley CCG area. This service has been commissioned by the CCG and is integrated with the Royal Surrey County Hospital .
The service is led clinically Dr Helen Barnes (GPSI) and sees consultants from The Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH) working alongside GPs with a special interest (GPSI) to treat women with gynaecological problems.
Conditions seen in the clinic include:
-
Abnormal / heavy bleeding
-
Pelvic pain
-
PCOS
-
Vulval pain
-
Post coital bleeding
-
Menopause
-
Premenstrual syndrome.
We also see patients for procedures such as difficult coil fittings / coil removals and cervical polyp removals.
Patients visiting the community clinics will see a GP with a special interest in gynaecology (GPSI). The community clinics aim to be a one stop service for diagnosing your condition and providing a management plan. Where possible we undertake investigations including ultrasound and biopsies at the initial appointment, several of our doctors are trained in gynaecological ultrasound.
